Job summary

SoundOff Signal is seeking an entry-level assembler to hand-assemble, label, and package small components. You will read Bills of Materials, follow detailed work instructions, perform basic soldering, test units, and operate production equipment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, reliable attendance, and teamwork in a light manufacturing environment. Shift is Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm–1:00am with overtime as needed; you will rotate through

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, label, and package small items with accuracy.
  • Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) and job travelers.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment.
  • Read a tape measure and convert feet to inches.
  • Follow safety standards including PPE and ESD policies.

General Position Overview

This is an entry-level position where you will be responsible for assembling, labeling, and packaging small items by hand or machine, ensuring every product meets our high standards for quality and accuracy. Attention to detail is key, as you will be handling a variety of lights and related products, performing basic soldering, and conducting necessary testing before packaging. While most of your day will involve hands‑on assembly, packaging, and equipment operation, you may also assist with other duties as assigned to support the team's success.

Essential Job Functions
  • Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Reads and interprets job travelers and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Follows detailed work instructions accurately.
  • Locates and retrieves necessary parts for a job.
  • Uses the proper tools and equipment required for each task.
  • Completes job orders efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Operates and maintains production equipment.
  • Reads a tape measure and converts feet to inches.
  • Applies a strong understanding of decimals in relevant tasks.
  • Works effectively at all production stations.
  • Maintains adherence to production rates.
  • Regularly rotates to all necessary jobs within the work cell if applicable.
  • Follows safety standards, including electrostatic discharge (ESD) policies and proper wear and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintains a positive, professional working relationship with team members.
  • Is able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to learn and apply the essential job functions.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency in decimals and measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions independently and efficiently.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to perform job duties consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Commitment to quality and efficiency, consistently meeting or exceeding company standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.
