Job summary

SoundOff Signal is seeking an entry-level assembler in a light manufacturing environment in Hudsonville, MI. You will assemble, label, and package small items by hand or machine, and you may perform basic soldering and testing to ensure quality before packaging.

Reading BOMs/travelers, applying work instructions, and using the right tools are essential. The role requires 4x10 hour shifts and a strong commitment to accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

General Position Overview

This is an entry-level position where you will be responsible for assembling, labeling, and packaging small items by hand or machine, ensuring every product meets our high standards for quality and accuracy. Attention to detail is key, as you will be handling a variety of lights and related products, performing basic soldering, and conducting necessary testing before packaging. While most of your day will involve hands-on assembly, packaging, and equipment operation, you may also assist with other duties as assigned to support the team’s success.

Essential Job Functions

• Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
• Reads and interprets job travelers and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Follows detailed work instructions accurately.
• Locates and retrieves necessary parts for a job.
• Use the proper tools and equipment required for each task.
• Completes job orders efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Operates and maintains production equipment.
• Reads a tape measure and converts feet to inches.
• Applies a strong understanding of decimals in relevant tasks.

• Follows safety standards, including electrostatic discharge (ESD) policies and proper wear and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
• Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.
