Job summary

Opta Group LLC. in Turtle Creek, PA is seeking a Production Operator I to support daily production activities, operate a forklift, and assist with packaging and line operations.

You will read work orders to verify product and labeling requirements, run packaging equipment, unload trucks, sample materials, and keep the plant clean and compliant with safety procedures. Strong teamwork and reliable daily performance are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or related experience and/or training.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Good communication and adaptability with coworkers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift.
  • Read and verify work orders to confirm product, packaging and labeling requirements.
  • Complete paperwork / production documents as directed.
  • Operate and adjust packaging machinery to meet product requirements.
  • Identify calibration tags and ensure they are current.
  • Operate a semi-automatic supersack filler.
  • Operate an automated stretch wrap machine.
  • Operate hi-vac or powered vacuum and scrubber to maintain plant cleanliness.
  • Unload/load trucks as directed by shipping/receiving supervisor or manufacturing manager.
  • Sample raw materials and finished goods as directed.
  • General cleaning of production facility and good housekeeping.
  • Work in compliance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Position Summary

Production Operator I will report to the Plant Manager, or their designate, and is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks to assist with operations in production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating a forklift
  • Reading and understanding work orders to verify product, packaging, and labeling requirements
  • Completing paperwork / production documents accurately and as directed
  • Operating and adjusting packaging machine as required to meet product requirements
  • Identify calibration tags and ensure they are current
  • Operating a semi-automatic supersack filler
  • Operating an automated stretch wrap machine
  • Operating hi-vac or powered vacuum and scrubber to maintain plant cleanliness
  • Unloading/loading trucks at direction of shipping/receiving supervisor or manufacturing manager
  • Sampling raw materials and finished goods under the direction of manufacturing manager or plant manager
  • General clean-up of production facility, which may include the lunchroom, washroom, as well as trash removal
  • Work in compliance with company safety and operating procedures
  • General shop duties insuring good housekeeping and the organization of the production area
  • Performs other related duties as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing settingli>
  • Communication skills and adaptability to work with co-workers and management efficiently
