Production Operator - Grinding (Night Shift 7:30pm - 7:30am)

Location: Knoxville, TN, US

Job Type: Full-time, 15 days per month, with every other weekend off, offering a three-day weekend.

Purpose of Position

Operate blade grinding equipment to produce high-quality razor blades.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Procedures:

1. Maintain and operate blade grinding machines in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
2. Regulate machining by setting and adjusting controls.
3. Maintain specifications by observing quality standards and utilizing precision measurement equipment.
4. Resolve production problems to meet specifications and troubleshoot equipment; notify supervisor for additional resources.
5. Keep machines and work area clean.
6. Document actions by completing production and quality records.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Ability to correctly read and interpret instruments and gauges.
2. Ability to perform basic mathematics calculations (addition, subtraction, division, percentages).
3. At least 2 years of manufacturing experience (e.g., CNC Operator, Press Operator, Machine Operator, Molding Technician, or Maintenance background) and/or related technical certification.
4. Good interpersonal skills.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent mechanical skills.
7. Experience operating high-speed machinery/equipment.
8. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
9. Basic knowledge of blueprint reading.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, twisting, using hands and fingers, talking, hearing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and performing repetitive motions. Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
