Job description

Production Operator GEA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Operate trim press, sand, drill, file, and/or knife castings as required (Die Cast) or operate CNC machines, multiple station machine centers, drill presses, etc. (Machining).
  2. Perform quality checks and document results where applicable, including using simple gauges, precision measuring devices, and visual inspection.
  3. Conduct safety checks to ensure safety devices are operational, including understanding of Lock-Out Tag Out procedures.
  4. Manually handle parts from work-in-process containers to shipping containers, moving containers as needed using pallet jacks, walkie-talkies, etc.
  5. Pack parts properly according to operator instructions and apply proper labeling to meet customer requirements.
  6. Prepare and maintain accurate records such as route sheets and count sheets.
  7. Read and follow operator and setup instructions; advise supervisor of any updates or corrections needed.
  8. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  9. Perform and document total preventive maintenance (TPM) operations, including lubricating, changing filters, cleaning, and checking fluid levels.
  10. Participate as a trainer when necessary.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS

The position involves working in a heavy production environment with high noise and heat levels. Exposure to moving machine parts during troubleshooting of die cast machines or secondary operations. Working hours are a minimum of 40 hours per week, with some overtime during weekdays and weekends. Typical shifts are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm; 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm; or Sunday night 11:00 pm - Friday 7:00 am.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires physical exertion, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Prolonged periods on your feet wearing steel-toed shoes, using tools, and performing repetitive tasks involving bending, lifting, reaching, and twisting. Visual acuity is required for quality inspection of parts.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic reading and math skills are required.
