Job summary

Silver King Beverage Company is seeking a machine operator to support aluminum can production. You will operate can forming machinery, monitor quality, and help maintain production flow.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, loading materials, performing quality checks, and adhering to safety and 5S standards. Experience in manufacturing is preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal packaging or can making industry.
• Must have basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor can forming machines and related equipment.
• Inspect finished cans for defects and ensure correct dimensions.
• Load materials and manage material supply for production.
• Set up machines per production requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist maintenance with routine tasks and minor repairs.
• Maintain safety, PPE, and 5S housekeeping.
• Maintain production records and communicate with supervisors and team members.

Description

SUMMARY

This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining can-making machinery to ensure the efficient production of aluminum cans while adhering to established safety, quality, and productivity standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor equipment such as can forming machines, presses, trimmers, liners, and other machinery involved in the can making process.
• Inspect finished cans for defects, ensure proper dimensions, and perform quality checks to maintain product quality standards.
• Handle raw materials required for can production. Load materials onto machines and monitor material supply throughout the production process.
• Set up machines according to production requirements, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance tasks, cleaning equipment, and conducting minor repairs as needed.
• Optimize machine performance, minimize waste, and maximize production output while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
• Maintain production records, log equipment downtime, report quality issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Maintain 5S principles and ensure optimal area cleanliness and housekeeping standards are consistently met to uphold a safe and organized work environment.
• Complete daily housekeeping assignments to maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to continuous safety and quality improvement efforts.

Food Safety

Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
