What is a Cast House?

The Cast House is a structure that holds an aluminum smelter. Howmet Aerospace's smelters are among the safest in the world. Our modern aluminum smelter requires trained and skilled operators.

Position Summary

Prepare, assemble, and install casting materials and equipment. Operate casting lines to produce aluminum billets (ingots) and inspect cast ingots and scrap.

Essential Duties

• Charge furnace safely and control the furnace level per standard operating procedures.
• Prepare casting lines and filter boxes following SOPs.
• Visually inspect all cast ingots.
• Monitor and maintain cast lines safely per SOPs.
• Ship acceptable ingots per SOPs.

Additional Duties

• Record operating data and make process adjustments.
• Operate forklift when needed.
