Job summary

Diageo is seeking a Production Operator to keep packaging operations running safely and to the highest quality standards. You will operate and maintain production equipment, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement as part of a collaborative shift team.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage or other production environment.
  • Confidence operating production or packaging equipment, with an understanding of setup, changeovers and basic maintenance.
  • Knowledge of quality, food safety and workplace safety practices within manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Comfort with production systems and basic computer applications; SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Proactive team player with strong communication skills and ability to work rotating shifts.

About The Function

Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world. With over half of our people working across more than 100 sites, this is a complex, large-scale operation that brings together production, logistics, engineering and supplier partnerships. It's fast-paced and hands-on, with teams working together to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability at every stage. About The Role

As a Production Operator, you'll play a key role in keeping our packaging operations running safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll operate and maintain production equipment, troubleshoot issues, drive continuous improvement and ensure every product meets our quality expectations. Working as part of a collaborative shift team, you'll help deliver strong performance across safety, quality, service and productivity while contributing to our Manufacturing Excellence journey.

Role Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor and adjust packaging equipment to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance, changeovers, inspections and basic troubleshooting to maximize equipment performance.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure products meet food safety, GMP and quality standards.
  • Identify production issues, participate in root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, DMAIC and problem-solving tools.
  • Maintain accurate production records, complete shift handovers and update operational systems and visual management boards.
  • Promote a safe, clean and organized workplace by following HSE, 5S and Manufacturing Excellence standards.
  • Collaborate with operators, trades, quality and production teams to achieve shift targets and continuously improve performance.
Experience / Skills Required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage or other production environment.
  • Confidence operating production or packaging equipment, with an understanding of machine setup, changeovers and basic maintenance.
  • Knowledge of quality, food safety and workplace safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable using production systems and basic computer applications (SAP experience is advantageous)
  • A proactive team player with strong communication skills and the flexibility to work rotating shifts.
