Job Summary
- Learns, understands, and follows safe operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Follows established SOPs to ensures product quality standards are met.
- Performs all tasks and duties required to ensure production and efficiency standards are met.
- Assists in other areas in production as needed.
- Performs lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 to 100 pounds regularly and stands for extended periods of time.
- Reports all general safety, quality, sanitation, and maintenance issues to Production Supervisor
- Maintains clean and sanitary work areas, machinery, and equipment.
- Communicates with supervisors and co-workers all information relevant to the manufacturing process.
- Ensures the proper set-up for the next shift and communicates with next shift.
- Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50 to 100 pounds consistently.
- Attention to detail, including tracking of batch codes, use of recipes, and following instructions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Prior food production experience preferred, but not required.
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment – large equipment, noisy, busy, can be dusty or damp.
- Use of PPE required (provided) – safety glasses, ear plugs/muffs, company uniform, hairnets and safety shoes.
- Additional PPE including bump caps and dust masks required for some duties.
- Standing, walking, lifting, cutting, climbing stairs and ladders for extended periods of time.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Use of electronic production equipment, including reading and manipulating touch screen monitors.
- Some duties require working outside in Rochester weather.
Compensation
- Hourly compensation for this position is based on skills and experience, ranging from $18.00 - $24.00
