Job summary

Alkegen in the United States, New York, Rochester area seeks a manufacturing operator to perform daily production duties and help maintain high quality output. You will operate production machinery and various mobile equipment while following safety policies and procedures.

You will need a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts with overtime and weekends as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery safely.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, safety guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools.
  • Comfort with computers; experience with Oracle or ABB systems is a plus.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including 12-hour shifts and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all job duties in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrate safe behavior, quality workmanship, and teamwork to support overall success of the organization.
  • Actively participate in and support safety initiatives and improvement efforts within the facility.
  • Build strong working relationships with crew members and internal departments to support high-quality production.
  • Drive and implement positive changes within the work environment.
  • Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Safely and competently operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts, floor sweepers, and power washers.
  • Perform confined space entry procedures, both as an entrant and an attendant, when required.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Work overtime as needed, including 12-hour shifts.
  • Adhere to all company and location-specific policies and safety regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using the Alkegen Oracle management system.
  • Familiarity with ABB system control applications.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and apply independent thinking in daily tasks.
Qualifications:

  • Comfortable using computers and data entry systems; experience with Oracle or ABB systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and perform tasks involving physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, and climbing.
  • Willingness and availability to work overtime, including 12-hour shifts and weekends, as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be available to work 12-hour shift, OT and weekends as needed.
  • Basic computer skills.
