Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a reliable Production Operator in Rochester, NH to support daily manufacturing activities across battery technologies and filtration media. The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read instructions, and willingness to work 12-hour shifts with overtime.

You will operate production equipment, maintain clean work areas, and collaborate with teammates to meet quality and safety standards. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; 1–2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency with basic math and data entry; comfortable using computers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and mobile equipment safely.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness.
  • Support safety initiatives and process improvements.
  • Work overtime and 12-hour shifts as needed.
  • Collaborate with crew and internal departments.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to policies and SOPs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all job duties in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrate safe behavior, quality workmanship, and teamwork to support overall success of the organization.
  • Actively participate in and support safety initiatives and improvement efforts within the facility.
  • Build strong working relationships with crew members and internal departments to support high-quality production.
  • Drive and implement positive changes within the work environment.
  • Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Safely and competently operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts, floor sweepers, and power washers.
  • Perform confined space entry procedures, both as an entrant and an attendant, when required.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Work overtime as needed, including 12-hour shifts.
  • Adhere to all company and location-specific policies and safety regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using the Alkegen Oracle management system.
  • Familiarity with ABB system control applications.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and apply independent thinking in daily tasks.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery and mobile equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools to ensure product specifications.
  • Comfortable using computers and data entry systems; experience with Oracle or ABB systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and perform tasks involving physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, and climbing.
  • Willingness and availability to work overtime, including 12-hour shifts and weekends, as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be available to work 12-hour shift, OT and weekends as needed.
  • Basic computer skills.
