Job summary

Crane Co. is seeking a Production Operator for 2nd shift in Marion, NC. The role involves cutting liners, relaxing and flaring, and performing in-process inspections to exact specifications.

You will operate band-saws and flaring equipment, then tag and trim parts, while maintaining a safe, clean work area and reporting production data. The position requires basic blueprint reading, math, and familiarity with measurement tools, plus the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform team lifts for

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs; team lift for heavier items.
  • Basic blueprint reading to interpret drawings and specs.
  • Basic math including fractions and decimals for material/inspection needs.
  • Ability to read tape measures, thickness gauges, micrometers, calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Cut liner to length and relax into elbow housing using the puller.
  • Flare liner on elbow flaring machines and cool on the cold head.
  • Tag and identify elbows and trim excess flare per specs.
  • Conduct in-process inspection using measuring/test instruments.
  • Set up machinery and tooling; perform material handling with hand trucks and forklifts.
  • Record production and labor on work orders and maintain clean area.
  • Perform inventory counts and report corrections in work cell.

## Production Operator- 2nd Shift Small ElbowsApplyremote type: Onsitelocations: Marion, North Carolinatime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR102171**Position Summary:**Cut Liner to length, relax liner to housing oven, flare liner, and perform all in process inspection.**Principle Duties (includes, but may not be limited to):*** Cut to length liner with band-saw.* Pull liner into elbow housing using puller.* Relax liner to housing in oven.* Flare liner on elbow flaring machine(s) and cool flared elbow on cold head machine(s).* Tag and mark elbow with identification and trim excess flare off with knife or punch die.* Perform all in-process inspection (TQC) to specifications using appropriate measuring / test instrument (s).* Perform set-ups of machinery and equipment tooling.* Perform material handling functions using hand trucks and forklifts.* Report production and labor on VDT and work order traveller.* Maintain a clean and orderly work area.* Perform inventory cycle counts on items in work cell and work cell stock area and report inventory corrections.**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE****:*** High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.* Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance, any parts weighing over 50lbs requires a team lift.* Operator must have basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications necessary to perform job* Operator must have basic math skills including addition / subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing and inspection requirements* Operator must have ability to read measuring instruments not limited to but including: tape measure, thickness gage, micrometers and calipers.* Operator must have good hand-eye coordination, grip strength and dexterity to assemble products using hand and machine tools at established production standards.EOE/Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled*This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
