The Vaughns/Furnace Operator is responsible for providing accurate paperwork and record keeping. Must have the ability to use measuring and test equipment as required, follow all company rules and policies as well as OSHA/EPA regulations.

This position reports to the Supervisor – Fiber Web and is part of the Fiber/Web Department located in Deland, FL and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manipulate heavy wire and operate the continuous furnace. Setup and operate all equipment to produce products to specification requirements.

  • Work under the direction of supervisors or more experienced personnel with little supervision. Maintain an acceptable level of attendance (as measured by the Attendance Policy) and use protective equipment as required.

  • Maintain accurate records and logs and collect any necessary data for use by Engineering. Cross train and/or work on any Fiber/Web equipment as necessary including Leach to meet schedule.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High school degree (or equivalent degree) with prior work experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to perform accurate record keeping and utilize basic math skills.

  • Able to use measuring equipment (calipers and micrometers) and test equipment.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for a minimum of 10 hours.

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lbs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Working with Hazardous Chemicals.

  • Working with environmental regulations.

  • Working with steel microfibers in a heavy manufacturing environment.
