Job title: Production Operator
Situation in organisation
Member of plant operations team. Reports to production supervisor. Variable shift depending upon business need.
Job dimensions
- Produces, inspects, and packages products per batch formulations utilizing various mixing, blending, and packaging equipment.
- Follows all EHS and Quality procedures to safely produce quality product.
- Records manually and via computer all material usage, accurately fill out process batch sheets.
Activities
- Follows process batch sheets to produce quality products per prescribed standards.
- Adheres to all plant policies, practices, and procedures to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.
- Practices Continuous Quality Improvement in all processes.
- Participates in Bostik's Safety programs to achieve the objective of safe behavior and the goal of Zero Incidents.
- Monitors and adjusts equipment as necessary and permissible to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Works cooperatively with all employees and leadership to meet plant/shift objectives.
- Maintains an improved level of housekeeping in work area and facility.
- Completes all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Operates various pieces of equipment including mixers, blenders, packaging lines, forklifts, palletizers, and basic hand tools.
- Uses computer controls to operate equipment.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizen events.
- Rotates to other work functions as required by process flow.
Context and environment
- Works in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy, and speed are essential. Multi-tasking is required.
- Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a non climate-controlled environment.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Uses production equipment, material handling equipment, and hand tools.
- Uses computer for data management and training.

- Operates equipment and reports issues to leadership as needed.
- Completes daily goals.
- Uses problem-solving techniques to eliminate waste and errors, driving overall improvement.
- Understands production and process equipment.
- Adheres to Bostik, OSHA, and local regulations/policies.
Qualifications / experience required
- Required Skills/Experience: High school diploma/GED, ability to read English, perform basic math, willing to work off shifts and overtime.
- Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience in manufacturing, computer skills (Microsoft, Lotus Notes), forklift experience, operating automated/semi-automated equipment. Starting pay of $19.50/hour plus $0.85 shift differential.
