Job Description

Job Title: Operator, Assembly
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Reports To: Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly)

Summary

Under supervision, the Production Operator/Associate performs routine tasks involving molding machine operation and assembly of molded parts. Responsibilities include using simple hand tools, trimming, inspecting, packing, and recording quality data. Continuous visual and manual quality checks are required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Follow Operator Instruction Sheets for part numbers, inspection, packing, and special instructions.
  • Retrieve, inspect, count, weigh, pack, and label parts as per instructions.
  • Use hand tools such as clippers, knives, screwdrivers for trimming and preparing parts.
  • Operate molding machines and air tools; report malfunctions and quality issues.
  • Inspect and monitor product quality against standards; accept or reject parts accordingly.
  • Perform clerical tasks related to production recording.
  • Conduct secondary operations like trimming, repairing, and weighing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization per 5S standards.
  • Interface with production monitoring systems.
  • Assist with color and mold changes, setup for next jobs, and support breaks.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand for entire shift.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions with limited options.
Additional Information

This position generally does not require travel. Management may assign additional duties as needed. Completion of all post-hire training is required.
