Job summary

RailWorks Corporation is seeking a Production Operator to operate various machine equipment and assist in manufacturing the NARSTCO product safely and efficiently. You will collaborate with teammates to meet customer needs and production goals.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, and forklift operation knowledge. Wages are $20/hour with standard benefits. Nearest market: Dallas area.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years manufacturing experience.
  • 1–2 years forklift operation; certification a bonus.
  • Basic reading and mathematics skills.
  • Experience with punch press, form press, forklift, calipers, tape measure, PLC equipment is preferred.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and drawings for quality.
  • Ability to work with tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production equipment safely.
  • Perform production tasks for processing NARSTCO products.
  • Follow directions from Foreman and Leads.
  • Ensure correct pieces are placed into racks and bundles.
  • Inspect and mark bundles; move materials with forklift to staging areas.
  • Load infeed with forklift; maintain production pace and quality.
  • Assist new employees with safe production practices and SOPs.
  • Uphold integrity and professional conduct in all dealings.

Position Summary

The Production Operator uses different types of machine equipment to assist with manufacturing the NARSTCO product in an efficient and safe manner; cooperates as a team with other workers to produce a high-quality product to meet customer needs and goals.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work safely following all required safety and work protocols and wearing of personnel protective equipment as required.
  • Carryout to the full extent required, production activities for the processing of all NARSTCO products
  • Follow instructions of Production Foreman and Team Leads
  • Ensure correct number of pieces are placed into rack
  • Band product bund
  • Mark and inspect bundles as instructed
  • Move material with forklift from finished bundle rack to designated staging area
  • Load infeed with proper capacity forklift
  • Work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to insure timely completion
  • Assist new employees in safe and efficient production which includes following standard operating procedures and instructional material and manuals
  • To exercise the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, good faith, and fidelity to the Company, in dealing with the Company and with its customers, employees, suppliers and other public entities
  • Provide other reasonable services as the Company may request from time to time.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • One to two years’ experience in Manufacturing
  • One to two years Forklift operation and certification a bonus
  • Basic reading and mathematics skills
  • Knowledge and experience in working punch press, form press, forklift, using calipers, reading a tape measure, operation of PLC equipment, grinders, and machine fabrication tools preferred
  • Basic maintenance knowledge such as tightening and loosening bolts etc. is preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions, drawings and dimensions as required for quality
  • Ability to work well with tools and machinery required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds
  • Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather
  • Exposed to loud noise
