Job summary

USG is seeking candidates for first, second, and third shift roles in Port Reading, NJ. Starting hourly rate is $27.75 with a rotating weekly schedule and potential overtime to meet production needs.

As a production operator, you will safely run equipment, record data, perform basic maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent teamwork and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must work safely in a manufacturing setting and follow plant safety rules.
  • Willingness to learn to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Ability to interpret verbal and written work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Proficiency in taking measurements to verify product specifications.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools (hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Job description

Work schedule, 1st Shift- 7AM-3PM, 2nd Shift-3PM-11PM, 3rd Shift-11PM-7AM. Typically rotating weekly.

Starting hourly rate, $27.75 per hour

Role & Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Adhere to all safety and housekeeping requirements within our welcoming manufacturing setting.
  • Operate with Confidence: Operate production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to ensure our high product and quality standards are met.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record production data and other results as required.
  • Maintenance Skills: Apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Active Participation: Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Adapt to scheduling requirements, including shift work, overtime, and weekend assignments, where applicable.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
