Production Operator - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shifts

Group Summary

The Magna Exteriors portfolio includes access systems, liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules, and lightweight structural components for automotive and industrial markets. Job Responsibilities

Starting Rate: $15.76

2nd Shift Premium: $0.35/hr

3rd Shift Premium: $0.60/hr

Purpose: Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor or Team Leader, perform repetitive assembly operations to produce automotive products within quality and time standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Rotate through production areas as requested, ensuring quality and timing requirements are met, and report problems to supervisors.
  2. Report on time for pre-shift meetings.
  3. Maintain a safe work environment by observing safety policies and procedures.
  4. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  5. Perform detailed assembly operations, fitting, and fastening using tools per work instructions, adhering to TS16949 and ISO standards.
  6. Review quality alerts before shifts and follow all quality policies.
  7. Identify, record, and report product, process, or quality problems.
  8. Report machinery malfunctions.
  9. Handle and maintain equipment, facilities, and tools safely.
  10. Maintain a clean, safe workplace through routine maintenance.
  11. Perform other assignments as directed by management.
  12. Comply with employee responsibilities outlined in the Magna Employee’s Charter.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2 years relevant work experience preferred. Must have strong organizational, time management skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of hand tools is required.

Additional Knowledge/Training
  • Ergonomics, Pedestrian Safety, ISO/TS16949 standards, PPE, Confined Space, Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency Evacuation, Lockout/Tagout, Safety Signs, Bailer and Bond Cell Training, Fork Lift Training (drivers only).
Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk for long hours.
  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds.
  • Mobility within the manufacturing environment.
