Job summary

Balchem Corporation in Vancouver, WA is seeking a production operator to fulfill daily manufacturing demands on the site, following the production schedule and leadership guidance.

You will comply with safety rules (GMPs/ISO/FSSC/HACCP) and operate packaging equipment, perform basic maintenance, document process data, restock supplies, and work with the operations team to expand responsibilities as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred and a minimum 1 year in manufacturing environment.
• Must have or be able to obtain forklift operators permit.
• Strong work ethic; detail oriented; can follow instructions and guidelines.
• Demonstrable mechanical ability and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret charts, graphs, documents, manuals, etc.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill daily production demands according to schedule and leadership.
• Comply with safety rules, regulations, and policies for Vancouver site.
• Prep for packaging activities and operate packaging equipment per SOPs.
• Clean up and maintain plant, equipment, and grounds.
• Document data for processes, testing, cleaning and sanitation activities.
• Restock supplies, operate forklift and pallet jack, load/unload trucks.
• Follow production quality system SOPs and SDS safety policies.
• Collaborate with operations to expand operator responsibilities as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Fulfill the daily production demands of a Vancouver manufacturing facility as indicated by either the production schedule and/or leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Comply with all Vancouver and corporate safety rules, regulations, and policies.
• Prep for packaging activities, operate packaging equipment in compliance with SOPS, GMPs, ISO/FSSC/HACCP and safety guidelines and requirements.
• Clean up and maintenance of plant, plant grounds and equipment.
• Document all required data for process operation, testing, cleaning and sanitation activities, (manually and electronically).
• Restock supplies, operate forklift and pallet jack, load/unload delivery trucks, recycle product and prepare product.
• Understand and comply with all production quality system SOPs and documents, safety policies and SDS.
• Work with operation team to increase knowledge of process and equipment operation and to assume more Operator II responsibilities and duties as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred and a minimum 1 year in manufacturing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Position may require walking and standing long periods; reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to handle materials.
• Position requires frequent moving of approximately 50 pounds.
• Working in a non-HVAC building, exposure to seasonal & operational impacted temperatures.
