Job summary

OESL-Automotive in Wisconsin is seeking a Braiding Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will handle tubes, operate braiding equipment, and ensure quality through inspection.

This role supports safety, efficiency, and reliability on hose production lines. Training is provided; shifts rotate 1st, 2nd, or 3rd based on seniority per union contract. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Shift: 1st/2nd/3rd shift based on seniority per union contract.
  • Relocation: Relocation benefits would not be offered for this job opening.
  • Work authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and we will not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

  • Procure drums of tubes following FIFO; position on A-frame and feed into the machine.
  • Operate braiding equipment applying yarn reinforcement over a rubber friction layer to tubing as per spec.
  • Inspect braid visually and perform required quality checks using calipers and wrap gauge.
  • Adjust braider settings to maintain quality of braided product.
  • Perform braider changeovers to ensure braided product is manufactured to specification.
  • Mark defects with tape to identify defective portions for downstream removal.
  • Collect spent yarn, cobs, and waste into appropriate containers.
  • Print braided product travel tags.
  • Stage drums of braided product in designated areas at cover operations.
  • Perform end of shift duties and report defective product in required systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.

  • Perform braider changeover as required assuring braided product is manufactured to specification,
  • Mark defects with tape to identify defective portion of braided product to assure removal of defective braided product in downstream operations,
  • Collect spent yarn, cobs, and empty into appropriate containers,
  • Print braided product travel tags,
  • Stage drums of braided product in designated staging areas at cover operations,
  • Perform end of shift duties, report defective product in required reporting systems,
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area,
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Previous manufacturing experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work 1 st (7am-3pm), 2nd (3pm-11pm), or 3rd (11pm-7am) shift is determined based on seniority per union contract.
  • Relocation benefits would not be offered for this job opening.
