Job summary

The Mentholatum Company in Orchard Park, NY is seeking a Packaging Associate to join our production team. You will perform manual packaging tasks, load materials, and ensure adherence to cGMP and SOPs as part of a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Basic Purpose

Responsible for contributing and acting as a team member for the operation of automated and manual packaging equipment while following cGMP and SOP requirements.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform manual packaging functions such as hand packing products into shipping cases, loading finished goods onto pallets or conveyors, and assembling component parts into finished goods as per packaging instructions. Load and supply materials to machines. Adhere to all cGMP’s and Company SOP’s.
• Act as a team member on production lines by following the direction of the Line Operator. Maintain Quality standards while working on production lines. Keep up with machine speeds to achieve productivity targets. Inspect work-in-progress to ensure quality standards are met. Promote and follow Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area, following Lean 5S procedures.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to safely and efficiently work as a team member on filling and packaging lines.
• Excellent observation skills to recognize quality defects.
• Ability to handle weights up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work overtime - as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements when performing job duties such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, carrying, reaching, crouching, etc.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
