Job summary

Cloudy Bay Vineyards is seeking a motivated Production Operator to join the Blenheim-based team in Marlborough. You will work across wine packaging and processing activities to support quality and efficiency.

In this hands-on role, you’ll operate equipment, monitor quality, complete documentation, and assist with cleaning and maintenance. A safety-first mindset and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a production line environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain quality control.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging and wine processing equipment.
  • Monitor product quality and production performance.
  • Complete production documentation accurately.
  • Support machine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with stock rework activities as required.
  • Work safely and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Participate in Vintage and other operational activities as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Production Operator to join our Production team in Blenheim, Marlborough and play a key role in bringing our wines to markets around the world.

As a Production Operator, you will work across a range of wine packaging and processing activities, including filling, labelling, disgorging, stock rework, warehousing support, and equipment operation. You will be part of a team committed to quality, safety, continuous improvement, and delivering world-class products.

What you'll be doing
  • Operating packaging and wine processing equipment
  • Monitoring product quality and production performance
  • Completing production documentation accurately
  • Supporting machine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Assisting with stock rework activities as required
  • Working safely and contributing to a positive team culture
  • Participating in Vintage and other operational activities as needed
  • Legal rights to work in New Zealand (no visa sponsorship available for this position)
  • Previous experience in a production line environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining production line machinery
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain quality control
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A willingness to learn new skills and operate a variety of equipment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Forklift licence desirable (but not essential)
