Job summary

Production Operator – International Falls, MN

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company focused on delivering high‑quality paper and packaging solutions. The International Falls, MN Paper Mill is a White Paper Mill that serves customers locally and nationally. This role supports the manufacturing operations of the plant by performing a range of production tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using production equipment to ensure a steady workflow.
  • Adjust equipment as needed and conduct quality checks before, during, and after production.
  • Stack boxes, clean facility areas, and perform general helper duties.
  • Move and lift heavy objects safely.
  • Maintain accurate production and work records.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Clean rooms and work areas as required.
  • Sort manufacturing materials and products.
  • Load and unload materials into machinery.
  • Load, unload, and stack products, materials, and containers.
  • Measure, weigh, or count products and materials.
  • Operate hoist, winch, and hydraulic boom equipment.
  • Perform safety and equipment inspections in the plant.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed.
  • Mark products and containers correctly for identification.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have previous work experience.
  • Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willing to work swing and graveyard shifts, including required overtime.
  • Strong safety background with a good attendance record.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and twist repeatedly.
  • Can adapt to varying temperatures and work volumes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous plant manufacturing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Work well under pressure, within time constraints, and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Make independent decisions through creative problem‑solving and handling ambiguity.
  • Manage a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary: $28.65 per hour.
  • Paid vacation and paid holidays.
