Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Midwest in Sedalia, MO is seeking a team-oriented worker to bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars per customer orders. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and teamwork within a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities include operating a shearing, bending, and cutting equipment, plus an overhead crane to move materials. Candidates must meet basic education requirements and be able to work overtime and any shift as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or local/state equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and ability to follow safety programs and standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety programs and standards as part of daily tasks.
• Unload trailers and store material in bins; prepare orders for fabrication and shipping.
• Operate machining equipment (shearing, bending, power saw) to cut and shape reinforcing steel bars.
• Operate overhead crane to move materials and assemble orders for shipping.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and assist teammates as needed.

Purpose

Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer’s orders.

Basic Job Functions

• Must adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor’s vision and values.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Special Demands
