Job summary

Moog is hiring a Production Operator for our Murphy, NC facility. The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and mechanical aptitude, with soldering experience or potential certification. Candidate must be able to lift 20–40 lbs and work around magnets with strong electromagnetic fields.

You will assemble electromechanical products, operate tooling, and assist in final motor assembly and testing. The position is onsite with overtime as needed, including Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred; otherwise ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience soldering or ability to become certified.
  • Good eyesight with ability to distinguish colors and strong manual dexterity.
  • Able to lift 20 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work with and around magnets that have a strong electromagnetic field.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical products using required manufacturing documentation and tooling (rotor, stator sub-assembly, rotor and motor assembly).
  • Operate machine stripper or hand tool to remove insulation from lead wire.
  • Install lead wire pin connectors.
  • Operate drill drivers and automated drivers with feeder bowls.
  • Complete final motor assembly and test motor/drive for performance per specifications.
  • Load and monitor automated machinery.
  • Prepare and package final motor/drive assembly.
  • Complete cross-training in all operations.
  • Sit or stand for long periods; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Work overtime as needed, including Saturdays.
