Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Safety‑mocused team member for the Rebar Fabrication Midwest division in Mooresville, IN. You will bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders, while following safety programs and quality standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work overtime on various shifts in a busy fabrication environment. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills to calculate bar measurements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety programs and company standards.
• Unload trailers and store material in bins.
• Operate machines to cut and bend reinforcing steel bars as per orders.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate overhead crane to move materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Adhere to overtime and shift requirements.

Purpose

Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer's orders

Basic Job Functions

• Must adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Other tasks as required by Supervisor.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Must have a high school diploma, GED or local/state equivalent
