Job summary

Position

Objective: To become fully trained and able to meet all of AB Mauri requirements of working safely, efficiently and with an attention to detail. Obtain a thorough knowledge of the position and its requirements in the manufacturing, packaging, and storage of AB Mauri products.

Production

• Follow all food safety and operating procedures outlined by the company’s standards including start-up, changeovers, shutdown, and safe operation of machinery.
• Ensure critical control points are checked on all required equipment and report findings.
• Accurately record required information on production/quality documentation.
• Report any mechanical malfunctions to management.
• Ensure that finished product is properly labeled and is marked with an accurate and legible lot code.
• Operate forklifts safely.

Sanitation

• Ensure scheduled sanitation of production area is being conducted including daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
• Maintain a clean work area within the department per sanitation standards.
• Accurately record required information on the appropriate documentation.

Safety

• Safety is mandatory and a priority for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Complete all forms, checklists and documentation required by company policies and procedures.
• Willingness to endorse and maintain a safe culture at all times.
• Wear appropriate PPE in designated work areas.

Maintenance

• Keep equipment in a clean and neat condition.
• Perform autonomous maintenance on machinery as needed (based on AM status for site).

Quality

• Produce quality products in a manner that meets production targets and complies with the company’s food safety, quality standards and safety guidelines.

Human Resources

• Comply with all Local & Corporate HR policies and procedures.

• Contribute to continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months to a one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages.
• Written and oral English communication.
• Knowledge and ability to be certified with forklift (stand-up/sit-down) and scissor lift.
• Previous knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, AIB/ASI standards.
• Biochemical process and/or food manufacturing experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic PC skills in Word, Excel.

Other Factors

Ability to work 40 hours per week or scheduled hours, able to work overtime (Saturdays or Sundays) as needed.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; hear; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull/move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to allergens. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, vibration, and cleaning chemicals.
