Job summary

Continental is hiring for an on-site manufacturing/industrial role in Ohio. You will read and write legibly, perform heavy lifting and operate cranes or forklifts after training. Flexibility with shifts and weekends is required, and you will work with a crew in a demanding plant environment.

Qualification includes a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work legally in the U.S. Prior heavy industrial experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Read and write legibly.

• Operate towmotors/forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided).
• Move large cranes and equipment with training as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Work various shifts and weekends when scheduled.
• Stand and walk on concrete for extended periods.
• Environment can be hot, dirty, or cold.

Job Description

Must be able to read and write legibly

• Must be capable of heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs. occasionally)
• Must be capable of pushing/pulling (up to 50 lbs. occasionally)
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, and climb occasionally
• Must be able to sustain moderate work in an industrial environment
• Must be able to work safely with other employees as part of a crew
• Ability to operate towmotors/forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
• Large cranes used to move product (training provided as needed)
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
• Must be able to work any shift (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; 4 p.m. – 12 midnight; 12 midnight – 8 a.m.; 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) and weekends when scheduled
• Large equipment including calenders, presses, overhead cranes
• Standing and walking on concrete is required
• The work can be hot and dirty, as well as cold in the winter months
