Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months to one year related experience or training.
• Basic mathematical skills including fractions and percentages.
• Written and oral English communication ability.
• Knowledge to be certified on stand-up/sit-down forklift and scissor lift.
• Prior knowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, AIB/ASI standards.
• Biochemical process or food manufacturing experience.
• Basic Word and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety and operating procedures per company standards.
• Check critical control points on equipment and report findings.
• Record information on production and quality documentation.
• Report mechanical malfunctions to management.
• Ensure finished product labeling with accurate lot codes.
• Operate forklifts safely.
• Perform scheduled sanitation and maintain clean work area.
• Wear PPE and maintain a safe work culture.
• Keep equipment clean and conduct autonomous maintenance as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Production

• Following all food safety and operating procedures that are outlined by the company’s standards including start-up, changeovers, shutdown, and safe operation of machinery.
• Ensure critical control points are checked on all required equipment and report findings.
• Accurately record required information on to production/ quality documentation.
• Report any mechanical malfunctions to management.
• Ensure that finished product is properly labeled and is marked with an accurate and legible lot code.
• Operate forklifts safely.

Sanitation

• Ensure scheduled sanitation of production area is being conducted including daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
• Maintain a clean work area within the department per sanitation standards.
• Accurately record required information on to appropriate documentation.

Safety

• Safety is mandatory and priority for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Complete all forms, checklists and documentation required by company policies and procedures.
• Willingness to endorse and maintain a safe culture at all times.
• Wear appropriate PPE in designated work areas.

Maintenance

• Keep equipment in a clean and neat condition.
• Perform autonomous maintenance on machinery as needed (based on AM status for site).

Quality

Qualifications

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months to a one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
• Basic Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages.
• Written and oral English Communication
• Knowledge and ability to be certified with on stand-up/sit-down forklift, and scissor lift.
• Previous knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, AIB/ASI standards.
• Biochemical process and/or Food manufacturing experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic PC skills in Word, Excel.

Other Factors

Ability to work 40 hours per week or scheduled hours, able to work overtime (Saturdays or Sundays) as needed.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; hear; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull/move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to allergens. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, vibration, and cleaning chemicals.
