REA MAGNET WIRE CORP in Ashland, VA, is hiring a Production Operator for a 2-2-3 schedule (days and nights). The role covers staging, setup, testing, packaging, and documentation to produce Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire safely and efficiently.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years of manufacturing/warehouse experience (5 total), and basic mechanical aptitude. The position offers pay from $23.00 to $24.00 per hour, plus a nightly schedule premium and a robust benefits

• High level of mechanical aptitude; hands-on with basic hand tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Produce Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire safely and efficiently, including staging, setup, testing, packaging, and documentation.
• Follow Production Orders, ISO Work Instructions, and Safe Work Instructions.
• Perform routine preventative machine maintenance.
• Set up machines and controls for proper operation; monitor production for quality.
• Maintain production records and high housekeeping standards.
• Safe loading/unloading of raw materials and finished goods.

New Start Pay:

• $23.00/hour+ $0.75 schedule premium (just for 2-2-3 schedule nights)
• $23.50/hourat 90 days+ $0.75 schedule premium (just for 2-2-3 schedule nights)
• $24.00/hourat 1 year+ $0.75 schedule premium (just for 2-2-3 schedule nights)

Main Responsibility:

Responsible for all aspects of producing Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire safely and efficiently including staging, set up, testing, packaging, documentation, and the integrity of the equipment and infrastructure used in the process.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Follow Production Orders, ISO Work Instructions, Safe Work Instructions, and other production documents.
• Perform routine preventative machine maintenance.
• Select and stage proper supplies and feedstock; string up machines; set machines and controls for proper operation.
• Continuously monitor production to ensure the product meets specifications.
• Maintain optimal efficiency and productivity and minimal scrap.
• Perform start-up and periodic quality testing.
• Maintain safe machine operation.
• Maintain production records.
• Safely load and unload raw materials and finished goods.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping and maintenance throughout the facility.

Schedule:

• 2-2-3 Schedule
• 12-hour shift
• Day shift (7 am to 7 pm)
• Night shift (7 pm to 7 am)
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Position Specifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of recent manufacturing/warehouse experience and a total of 5 years of related experience in total.
• Knowledge of safety, distribution, and manufacturing best practices.
• High level of mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with basic hand tools and measuring devices, verified through work history and references.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference for candidates demonstrating recent, consistent work history.
• Preference for candidates with a strong work ethic, reliability, and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth in a manufacturing setting.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
