People selected for a Production Operator position may be placed in various roles within the production process of our Crown Health Care Laundry plant. Assignments are based on hiring needs and production levels, and may involve work in either or both production areas - Soil or Clean. Pay rates and scheduled hours depend on the assigned area.
The primary purpose of the Production Operator is to rotate through various positions to facilitate receiving, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and loading linens for delivery to hospitals and medical facilities. Operators will learn to operate different equipment, ensuring safety and exceeding customer expectations.
All employees are required to learn all equipment and rotate as needed, with a typical learning curve of 2-5 days per position. Standards must be met within two weeks of hire and maintained during employment. Roles are assigned based on production needs and employee skills.
All Production Operators, whether in Soil or Clean areas, must perform other duties as assigned, adhere to quality and safety standards, and be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodations.
Preferred qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, excellent teamwork skills, and willingness to rotate between all jobs as needed.
This position involves safely sorting returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications for washing and preparing carts for the Clean side of the plant.
Employees will learn equipment and rotate as needed, including roles like Catcher, Hand Folder, Ironer, and Shipping Clerk.
Build and weigh carts of finished linens, record data, and prepare for shipment. Responsibilities include maintaining records, tracking orders, and loading trucks. Basic computer skills and good recordkeeping are required. A Hep B shot is required.
