Job description

We are seeking a Factory Operative to join our production facility in Waltham Cross.

Reporting to the Production Manager/Line Leader, the role will involve working in a high-care, chilled food environment, in the manufacture of products that exceed our customers’ expectations.

As a Factory Operative your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Support the delivery of key performance targets within your area, ensuring attention to detail, accuracy with all tasks and procedures are always followed.
2. Receive, inspect, record temperatures and store produce upon delivery.
3. Complete and maintain data record sheets accurately.
4. Individually responsible for maintaining all legalities, Health & Safety and HACCP control within the department in accordance with Company policy and strict legal guidelines.
5. Operate machinery in accordance to training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to process, bag, box or otherwise package products.
6. Raise concerns about product quality to the Line Leader/Production Manager/Quality Controller in a timely fashion.
7. Minimise wastage.
8. Ensure all final products are checked for all quality and hygiene attributes.
9. Assisting in the packing of all food products produced.
10. Carrying out a variety of cleaning duties as required, to maintain a clean, tidy, safe and food safe working environment.
11. Responsible for personal hygiene and all PPE provided, following handwashing and changing process.
12. Contribute to providing an efficient, friendly service at all times to create and maintain a customer focused environment.

We are looking for applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:

1. Good verbal and written English.
2. Successful completion or willing to undertake Level 2 Food Hygiene and Level 2 H&S Awareness certificates.
3. Ideally have food production experience.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
6. Flexible approach to work.
7. Have a ‘can do’ attitude.
8. Willingness to learn new skills.
