Job summary

Tyson Foods in Holcomb, KS is seeking a production supervisor for the B shift (Mon-Fri) with Saturdays as needed from 1:30pm for up to 8 hours or until completion. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities include overseeing total operation of the area, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing of quality products, and providing training and materials to supervisors to achieve top quality output. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Processing management experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Supervisory responsibilities: responsible for supervising a group of personnel performing somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the total operation of the assigned business area.
• Ensure efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Provide supervisors with information, materials, and training to enable production of highest quality product.
• Monitor attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and Total Quality Management records.
• Monitor and promote new ideas, encouraging development of ideas from Team Members.
• Oversee the daily operation of assigned area or responsibility.
• Analyze non-routine problems and offer recommendations for solutions to the Plant Manager.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, Federal, and State Regulations.
• Maintain operation of assigned area, including safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover, absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.
