Job summary

Quarterhill is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art computer vision and language models for scalable, real-world ITS solutions. You will work with large-scale image/video data, contribute clean, modular code, and deploy production-grade systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in ML with CV/DL, and hands-on experience deploying LLM-based systems and MLOps on cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on ML experience with CV and production shipping track record.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, ML, or closely related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Strong knowledge of CV architectures like Vision Transformers and VLMs; OpenCV and PIL.
• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes) owning full lifecycle.
• Experience building and deploying LLM-based systems and RAG pipelines with vector stores.

Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and deploy CV and deep learning models for object detection and OCR at scale.
• Develop vision-language models and Mixture of Experts architectures to production.
• Architect RAG systems, including vector store design and context relevance.
• Apply MLOps best practices for training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Contribute to ML repositories and optimize models for performance across edge/cloud.
• Drive performance and scalability of ML systems across edge and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CV solutions into products.
