Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Spring Hill, TN seeks a Production Materials Group Lead to oversee production material flow and daily performance at a GM manufacturing facility. You will supervise hourly staff, monitor targets, and work with customer teams to ensure safety, quality, and uptime.

Responsibilities include material analysis, dashboard tracking, and coordinating with union stewards and HR. This role requires supervisory experience, lean knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Two (2) years or more in manufacturing or industry related field.
• Two (2) years or more supervisory experience.
• Three (3) years of problem solving skills experience, use of formal Root Cause Countermeasure Systems.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Exposure to Lean principles, systems and tools, preferred.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment may be required based on position, preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA required, DOT and Hazmat knowledge may be required based on the account, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Production Material Analysis: manages production material in a customer manufacturing facility for specific work production cells.
• Customer Relationship Management: builds and maintains relationships with customer floor leaders.
• Goal Tracking: ensures dashboards are updated and targets identified with countermeasures.
• Supervisory responsibilities: hiring, training, scheduling, conflict resolution, grievances, supervise hourly members and Team Leaders.
• Interfaces with customer applications and aid with materials adjustments; develop system training; perform time/attendance tracking.
