Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a 2nd Shift Production & Material Control Manager 1 to join our Manufacturing Organization located on-site at our BWI campus in Linthicum, MD.

The 2nd Shift Production & Material Control Manager 1 will be responsible for the direct supervision and functional management to ~15 direct employees between professional and represented (union) roles.

2nd Shift Hours - 2:00pm - 11:00pm : Some Training will take place on 1st shift.

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Provides direction and coaching to support primarily Commodities production planning and material control team members
  • Directs and coordinates the off-shift activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules to meet production/delivery requirements
  • Manages the controlled flow of material and hardware from receipt into a manufacturing area through delivery to the customer
  • Oversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
  • Manages the priority and scheduling of equipment and personnel, the confirmation of material supply and demand, and the preparation of work order or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, ets, as needed
  • Provides instruction and guidance to employees on job resources, including systems/applications (SAP, DPS, etc), tooling, and processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in manufacturing, project management, people management, and material handling (or combination of); Master's degree with 3 years of experience; 9 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, project management, people management, and material handling (or combination of) may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and production concepts
  • Experience coaching/leading people, projects, and/or processes
  • Ability to work on-site, 2nd shift
  • Intermediate SAP user
  • Prior experience with raw data analysis and excel pivot tables
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, or Logistics
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience working in a union represented environment

Salary Range: $93,100.00 - $139,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
