Job summary

Vestis in Madison, WI is seeking an entry-level warehouse associate to handle mats in a fast-paced laundry facility. You will roll, sort, and stage mats, verify sizes and colors, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires ability to work on a fixed 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM shift, weekends possible, and willingness to lift and move heavy carts. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality and segregate mats with stains, tears, or wet conditions.
• Verify mats by size, color, and type; place on correct shelves.
• Move full/empty carts as needed and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but not limited performing a mat rolling by machine, by hand on inverted table, or stacking on pallet.
• Stages cage of mats near table or into lift table if using mat rolling machine.
• Places mat rubber side up to manually roll mat, or steps on foot pedal to roll using machine.
• Monitors for quality while rolling and identifies and segregates mats that do not meet quality requirements in terms of stains, gum stains, rips, tears, holes, or if wet.
• Accurately verifies mat by size, color, and type, and places mats on correct storage shelves.
• Maneuvers full and empty carts.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment, and observes best practices in all production activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Environment / Safety Requirements

• Work is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise.
