Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility seeks a Production Manager for the weekend shift to lead machinists and production staff in supporting hypersonic weapon system work and other DoD/aerospace applications.

Primary responsibilities include leading a 2nd shift, maintaining 5S, coordinating with production control and engineering, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of machinists and production technicians; provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering.
• Maintain shop organization and 5S; perform weekly 5S audits.
• Provide effective pass-down status between shifts.
• Work with production control to understand deliverables and deploy resources for on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve production flow.
• Coordinate with quality to address nonconformities and enable progress to next steps.
• Identify production roadblocks and escalate to relevant teams.
• Ensure adherence to written production processes and procedures.
• Identify and support continuous improvement projects and risk mitigation.
• Maintain department performance metrics.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Work schedule: Fri-Sun 6am-6pm; Mon 7am-9am for pass-down.

Primary Responsibilities

• As part of the site leadership team, the Production Manager will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team to support our nations war fighters. Agility, flexibility, and creativity will be necessary to successfully navigate production challenges. Responsibilities include:

• Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technician, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering
• Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits
• Provide effective passdown status between shifts
• Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery
• Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow
• Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step
• Identify production roadblocks and escalate to appropriate teams
• Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes
• Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects
• Identify and escalate risks in the production processes
• Maintain department performance metrics
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Work schedule will be Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm, Monday 7am-9am for pass down and catch up with leadership

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate least 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Understanding of GD&T
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado
• This position will require the candidate to work Weekend Shift consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM-6PM.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, logistics, or business
• Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.
• Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint
• Secret Security Clearance

Pay Range

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
