Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Production Manager for the 2nd shift at our Colorado manufacturing facility to lead machinists and technicians, ensure 5S, and coordinate with control and engineering for on-time delivery. The role requires a strong background in precision machining, ERP/MRP experience, and GD&T knowledge.

Candidate must be a US citizen and able to obtain Secret clearance; the schedule is Monday–Thursday 2pm–12am with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience in a production environment.
• Experience with precision machining and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technicians and provide leadership to 2nd shift staff including quality and engineering.
• Maintain shop organization and 5S, perform weekly 5S audits.
• Provide effective passdown status between shifts.
• Work with production control to understand deliverables and deploy resources for on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve production flow.
• Coordinate with quality to address nonconformities and support closure.
• Identify roadblocks and escalate to appropriate teams.
• Ensure adherence to written production processes.
• Support execution of continuous improvement projects.
• Identify and mitigate risks in production processes.
• Maintain department performance metrics.
• US Citizen and ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Work schedule Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am; overtime on Fridays as required.

Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager 2nd Shift to join our team supporting a stand-alone manufacturing facility performing work on a hypersonic weapon system as well as other DOD and aerospace applications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technician, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering

• Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes
• Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects
• Identify and escape risks in the production processes
• Maintain department performance metrics
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Work schedule will be Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am, overtime on Friday as required

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate least 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Understanding of GD&T
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, logistics, or business
• Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.
• Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint
• Secret Security Clearance
