SelectOne is seeking a Production Manager in the Buffalo, NY area to own transformer production from entry to shipment, driving safety, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. You will lead Supervisors and Team Leads, collaborate with Master Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and Customer Support to align components, information, and commitments with the schedule.

You will manage staffing, labor capacity, and production reporting, and champion a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years leading supervisors.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing, electrical equipment, or transformer manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage production schedules, labor capacity, and staffing against demand and budget.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills across multiple supervision levels.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience coordinating with planning, engineering, procurement, quality, sales, and customer support.
• Ability to interpret production schedules, drawings, and work instructions; ERP proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Own the transformer on the production floor with accountability for progress, quality, safety, cost, and on-time completion through shipment.
• Manage weekly and monthly production schedule, deviations, escalation, and recovery.
• Balance workflow across departments to maximize throughput and on-time delivery.
• Lead and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and production staff; manage performance and succession.
• Oversee hiring, resourcing, and staffing for production against demand and budgeted levels.
• Deliver business-level production reporting: output, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, downtime, scrap, and variances.
• Lead structured problem solving and continuous improvement using lean, 6S, root-cause analysis, and standard work.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with Master Planning, Engineering Release, and Procurement to ensure timely availability of drawings, BOMs, and components.
• Support audits, inspections, and customer/regulatory requirements.
