Job description

Cincinnati, Ohio, Summermusik, based in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a Production Manager to plan the organization’s productions and serve as the primary music librarian. The candidate may also manage the organization’s marketing strategy or serve as grants writer depending on their skill set. The ideal candidate will have a background in orchestral production and music library work with an interest in acquiring additional skills and contributing to a small arts organization. The Production Manager will lead the production of world-class concerts in Cincinnati. A small team of 3 staff members collaborates to produce over 70 performances annually, including the Summermusik Festival, the We Are One festival, and various community performances.

Position Details:

• Type: Full Time (Exempt), at-will employment
• Hours: 40/week, with some evening and weekend work
• Compensation: $45,000-$55,000 annually, depending on experience
• Location: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

Music Library Management

• Oversee all library functions, including budget management, procurement, cataloging, and distribution of music.
• Ensure repertoire timings and bowings meet union requirements.

Concert Production

• Manage concert scheduling, venue selection, event logistics, and stage setups.
• Coordinate rehearsals, instrument rentals, and technical details.
• Develop production plans and manage staff and interns.

Education and Community Outreach

• Secure and support educational and community engagement events in collaboration with the ED.
• Manage budgets and seek revenue opportunities.

Additional Roles (if applicable):

• Marketing: Manage marketing content, social media, print materials, and campaigns.
• Grants: Manage grant applications, reporting, and relationships with funders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Music, Marketing, or related field.
• 2+ years in arts nonprofits and music librarian roles.
• Knowledge of orchestral instruments, music reading, and relevant software.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
