Job summary

Neogen in Randolph, Wisconsin, is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations and drive safety, quality, and productivity at our on-site facility. You will lead multiple teams, align production with business goals, and manage new product introductions while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

You will mentor supervisors, optimize schedules, and collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in managing manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and quality systems.
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong data analysis skills to interpret manufacturing metrics and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP/manufacturing software experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable balancing technical detail with strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor manufacturing supervisors, team leads, and frontline staff to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily production of products, ensuring schedules, SOPs, and packaging meet requirements.
  • Implement production scheduling systems to meet delivery timelines and optimize resources.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to supervisors and team leaders.
  • Monitor labor utilization and production efficiency; implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
  • Track KPIs (throughput, yield, downtime, labor efficiency, equipment utilization).
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain SOPs and production documentation for consistency; collaborate with Quality to resolve non-conformances.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance on flow, capacity planning, and capital projects.
  • Support budgeting and capital planning related to staffing, equipment, and improvements.
  • Provide leadership support to Plant Manager and contribute to cross-site initiatives.
