Overview

A Japanese auto parts manufacturer is looking for a Production Manager in Winterville, GA for $90K/year.

Position Purpose: A member of Leadership team, which is the management team to be sustainable for a long term success. Responsible to achieve the growth of sales and profit, and to serve our customers to be a dependable partner by supervising all production activities and to work together with all other departments. This position description is not meant to be all inclusive of any job function. They may change at any given time based on organizational needs.

Essential Duties
  • Leadership team member: To achieve the growth of sales and profit; To ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies and programs, as well as legally mandated standards; To ensure our customers are satisfied with our quality, cost, and delivery; To increase our company reputation through social and community involvement activities; To take a leadership to direct our team to achieve our mission, vision, values, and goals of company and departmental scorecard.
  • Production manager: A leader of Production Department; To lead and supervise all personnel in the department, and assign the role and responsibility of the following duties to every personnel in the department in order to meet the business plan and the goals of company’s and departmental scorecards; Responsible for departmental profitability and its improvement.
General Duties
  • Safety and environment
    • 1. To ensure all personnel to follow operation standard
    • 2. To ensure that proper documentation is completed as needed regarding all safety and environment issues
    • 3. To promote any improvement activities to reduce any risk in safety and better working environment.
  • Quality
    • 1. To ensure compliance with all product and process drawing, standards and specification.
    • 2. To ensure all personnel to follow the operation standard.
    • 3. To provide full cooperation and support of Quality system audit by either our customers or the third party- including assisting with tasks as needed, or assigning resources as needed.
    • 4. To resolve any issues that can arise regarding quality in conjunction with Quality Department.
    • 5. To promote any improvement activities to reduce any risk in quality defects by improving our process and its system.
  • Cost
    • 1. To conduct and lead Kaizen activities to reduce the cost.
    • 2. To promote innovative ideas to improve the process.
  • Delivery on time
    • 1. To ensure the production to meet monthly production goal.
    • 2. To ensure the customers to be satisfied with our delivery on time by managing day to day production.
    • 3. To promote any improvement activities for our customers to be satisfied with our delivery performance.
  • HR
    • 1. To communicate all personnel to be informed about company and departmental directions and policies.
    • 2. To develop performance standards for all positions within department.
    • 3. To ensure consistent and fair evaluation according to these standards to motivate the people.
    • 4. To maximize the capability of each person
    • 5. To develop training program.
    • 6. To resolve any payroll issues involving time records to manage overtime, sick, and vacations.
    • 7. To maintain necessary staffing levels by completing requisitions and participating in interviews and other aspects of the staffing process as needed.
  • Business plan and the financial result
    • 1. Develop the business plan including man power plan, investment plan, and Kaizen plan in safety, working environment, quality, cost, and on time delivery to set the departmental goal and scorecard to meet the company goal and scorecard.
    • 2. Manage resources (Man power and money) to meet company and departmental goals day to day. Oversee direct reports (e.g. Supervisors, Team leaders, Advisors, Setters, Operators, and Helpers) in completion of tasks - provide feedback as needed.
    • 3. To maintain the record of the asset book to be updated.
    • 4. To maintain necessary paperwork for purchase orders, the receipt of shipment, invoice, etc. for account payable on time payment to our suppliers on time.
    • 5. To manage the inventory including raw material, parts, WIP, and finished control
  • Process maintenance
    • 1. To work with Process and Facility maintenance manager to develop preventive and collective maintenance plans and activities to increase machines, tools, and molds’ efficiency, performance, and life.
    • 2. To ensure machines, tools and molds’ performance according to specifications.
    Other Duties
    • 1. As necessary, use Supervisors or other delegates to assist in the completion of assigned tasks.
    • 2. On all items, keep Leadership team informed of activity and progress.
    • 3. Perform other duties as necessary to maintain production, safety, quality, and efficient use of materials and time.
    • 4. Lead 5S effort for all departments.

    Qualifications

    There are no minimal educational requirements for this position. Individuals are qualified based on achieve educational levels, transferable work experience, positive attitude to learn and to adhere with all job functional expectations and aptitude as demonstrated and depicted during the selection process.

    Decision Making
    • 1. Manage any resources in man power and expense in the department to meet the company and department goals
    • 2. Identify areas of improvement and develop and discuss plans to address.
    • 3. Evaluate performance of all direct report personnel.
    • 4. Decide how and by what method to respond to various production issues.
    • 5. Determine when issues fall outside of normal procedures and how best to address them.
    Financial Responsibilities
    • 1. To meet the business plan’s profitability.
    • 2. To manage the departmental cost per the business plan.
    • 3. To create cost reduction and Kaizen plans.
    • 4. To reduce / eliminate money lost due to poor quality, productivity, absenteeism, wasted materials or time, or poor processes.
    Communication
    • 1. To constantly maintain two-way communication with Leadership team member, supervisors, advisors, support departments, and Operators. Time to Time, it is essential to communicate NKC Japan to have engineering supports and advices.
    • 2. Actively participate in Leadership team meeting which is scheduled daily, weekly, and quarterly.
    • 3. Maintain records of performance, attendance, and other employee issues necessary to provide job feedback to employees and to complete reviews.
    Results of Action
    • 1. To achieve company and department’s goals by scorecard.
