Job summary

AMST, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks a Production Manager to lead a production line, ensure safety, quality, and on-time output. You will supervise staff, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with other departments to maintain efficient production flow.

The role focuses on staff development, adherence to lean principles, and accurate reporting of production metrics. Salary ranges are provided and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Management and Development: assign tasks and schedules, train and evaluate staff.
  • Production Oversight: monitor lines, ensure quality, meet takt time and schedules.
  • Leadership Development: grow next generation of leads.
  • Quality Control: investigate issues and enforce standards.
  • Safety Compliance: enforce safety procedures and training.
  • Reporting and Analysis: generate KPI reports and communicate status.

Responsible for one or more production lines for one product within a manufacturing plant. Ensures production volume, cost and quality of production and production schedules are met. Constantly monitors production processes and staffing levels. Maintains compliance with company policies and safety standards. Leads a team of direct reports.

Production Manager

The Production Manager directs the daily operations of a production line, ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely by managing staff, coordinating activity according to production schedules, and enforcing safety regulations and company policies. They are responsible for monitoring and evaluating employee performance, quality control, team development, and resolving production issues to maintain optimal output and product quality. Takes ownership of the assigned work area.

Key responsibilities
  • Staff Management and Development
  • Assign tasks and manage employee schedules
  • Facilitate the training of new employees and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Develop, update, and refine work instructions with support from Leads and incorporate work instructions into training programs for skill development.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts
  • Conduct performance evaluations with support from Department and Area Leads.
  • Enforce company policies and take disciplinary action when necessary
  • Production Oversight
    • Monitor production lines to ensure quality standards and Takt time are met
    • Ensure work is performed in accordance with standardized work, following the defined individual tasks and sequence
    • Identify and address production bottlenecks or delays
    • Implement and sustain continuous initiatives, including 5S
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production flow
  • Leadership Development
    • Work within the department to develop next generation of Area and Department Leads
    • Participate in Leadership Training sessions
  • Quality Control
    • Investigate and resolve quality issues
    • Ensure adherence to company quality standards
    • Initiate and implement Corrective Actions based on feedback from Quality and other downstream operations
    • Drive quality at the source mentality amongst Team
  • Safety Compliance
    • Enforce safety procedures and regulations
    • Conduct safety training and awareness programs
    • Investigate and report safety incidents
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate production reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
    • Communicate production status to management
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Similar
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong Critical Thinking skills
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant Experience
  • Prior managerial experience in a manufacturing environment (3-4 years of experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and operations
Anticipated Salary Range

$90k to $115k Annually, based on applicable experience.

Pay Range

76,000.00 - 114,000.00
