Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee all production, grounds, and sanitation staff. You will report KPI’s, plan shifts, and drive efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Collaboration with HR and senior management is expected to ensure staffing, training, and budget adherence. Experience in manufacturing operations and forklift familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Proficiency with Word/Excel and basic internet software.

Responsibilities

  • Directly or indirectly manage all production, grounds, and sanitation employees and contract labor.
  • Report and generate KPI’s that monitor performance of the processing room.
  • Plan and manage shift schedules to ensure orders are ready on time.
  • Maximize production efficiency and overall cost management.
  • Monitor labor utilization and production efficiencies to achieve operational effectiveness within budget.
  • Work closely with HR and Senior Management to ensure staffing needs are met.
  • Maintain and develop training programs for employees.
  • Ensure equipment operators and floor supervisors are trained.
  • Ensure training is conducted as required.
  • Communicate and coordinate with all departments.
  • Ensure product meets or exceeds quality standards.
  • Resolve quality or production issues as they arise.
  • Ensure FIFO consumption of materials unless newer product spoils first.
  • Ensure accuracy of reported results.
  • Maintain clean and orderly grounds and sanitation tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly or indirectly manage all production, grounds, and sanitation employees and contract labor

  • Report and generate KPI’s that monitor performance of the processing room.

  • Plan and manage shift schedules to ensure orders are ready on time

  • Maximize production efficiency and overall cost management

  • Monitor labor utilization and production efficiencies to achieve operational effectiveness in a safe and efficient manner while staying on budget

  • Work closely with HR and Senior Management to ensure all staffing needs are met

  • Maintain and develop training programs that effectively prepare EE’s

  • Ensure all equipment operators and floor supervisors are properly trained

  • Ensure training is conducted as required

  • Communicate and coordinate with all departments

  • Ensure all product meets or exceeds quality standards

  • Resolve quality or production issues as they arise

  • Ensure raw materials are consumed in a FIFO manner, unless newer product will spoil first

  • Ensure accuracy of results reported directly or indirectly

  • Ensure the grounds are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion

  • Ensure that sanitation employees are performing tasks as required and scheduled

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Math Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; and internet software.
