Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 7 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Field of Study: Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related field plus 7 years in cement plant roles.
  • Minimum of 7 years of cement plant experience including exposure to all functional areas.
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the plant’s production functions, including shift teams, raw materials team and service team.
  • Ensure production meets quantity and quality targets.
  • Direct the use of production equipment and personnel efficiently.
  • Provide leadership through coaching and delegation as needed.
  • Oversee three-year improvement planning and budgeting for plant operations.
  • Manage refractory repairs for kilns and clinker coolers, including budgeting and installation.
  • Set annual department and personal objectives; complete performance appraisals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Manager leads production department to efficiently manufacture budgeted amount ofproducts while meeting safety, environmental, and quality objectives. Ensures practices are in alignment withcompany vision in the above areas.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Manage the plant’s production functions, including shift teams, raw materials team and service team
  • Ensure that the plant produces the required quantity of quality products
  • Direct the effective and efficient use of plant production equipment and people
  • Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires
  • Oversee plant management in terms of anticipating future needs of the plant, including input into three-year improvement plans
  • Manage plant production following Cement Industrial Framework and procedures
  • Budget for all plant volumes, including raw materials, fuels, intermediate products and cement shipments
  • Manage refractory repairs for kilns and clinker coolers including budgeting, products specifications, and installation
  • Direct the setting of annual department and personal objectives
  • Complete performance appraisals
  • Liaise with other departments
  • Oversee the reporting of department’s effectiveness
  • Safeguard assets, while establishing environmental compliance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety andenvironmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit thesebehaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 7 years of equivalent experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field plus 7 years of progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related engineering position within a cement plant.

Required Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years of cement plant experience including exposure to allfunctional areas within a cement plant.

Required Technical Skills: Computer skills with at least the following: Word, Excel, SAP

Travel Requirements: Up to 15%

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and expert interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid decision making ability and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good basic finance skills and business acumen
  • Calm and stable when under stress and when dealing with situations.
  • Solid understanding of industrial equipment and processes.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
