Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day shop floor operations in a medium-sized aerospace manufacturing facility. You will oversee CNC machining cells, assembly lines, and a team of 30+ machinists and technicians, ensuring on-time delivery and strict compliance with AS9100 quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing with 2–3 years in supervision, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in CNC processes, ERP systems, and CAPA methodologies.

Qualifications

• Six Sigma knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems and ITAR compliance.
• AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge and experience.
• Proven ability to manage multi-axis CNC machining and complex assemblies.
• Experience in production planning and shop-floor optimization.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing activities across CNC milling/turning cells and aerospace assembly lines.
• Plan and allocate labor and machine resources to meet milestones and delivery targets.
• Lead and develop a team of 30+ direct reports; conduct evaluations and manage attendance and cross-training.
• Monitor KPIs: scrap, FPY, OEE, and OTD; drive improvements.
• Ensure AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance and CSQRs; lead CAPA with QA.
• Lead internal and supplier audits; troubleshoot CNC setups and GD&T interpretation.
• Oversee large aerostructures integration with tight tolerances and FOD prevention.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day shop floor operations. In this role, you will lead a team of machinists, assembly technicians, and support staff across precision CNC machining and complex mechanical assembly operations. Operating within a medium-sized facility, the ideal candidate thrives in a direct, visible leadership role where accountability, cross-functional collaboration, on-time delivery (OTD), and uncompromising compliance with AS9100 quality standards are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing activities across CNC milling/turning cells and complex aerospace assembly lines.
• Plan, schedule, and allocate labor and machine resources to meet production milestones, cycle times, and customer delivery targets.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 30+ direct reports (machinists, deburr technicians, assembly specialists, and team leads); conduct performance evaluations and manage attendance/cross-training matrices.
• Monitor shop floor KPIs including scrap rates, First Pass Yield (FPY), machine utilization (OEE), and On-Time Delivery (OTD).
• Ensure full operational compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and customer-specific quality requirements (CSQRs).
• Partner with Quality Assurance to lead root-cause analysis (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances (NCRs).
• Participate in internal, customer, and third-party AS9100 certification audits.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to CNC machining setups, tooling, fixtures, and GD&T blueprint interpretation.
• Oversee the sequencing, fitment, and integration of large, multi-component aerostructures/assemblies, ensuring tight tolerances and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention protocols.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience in the aerospace industry, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or shop floor leadership capacity
