Job summary

Empire is seeking a Quality Assurance Sanitation Supervisor to lead production floor activities and implement department procedures aligned with company objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, safety, quality and sanitation focus, plus the ability to drive improvements across a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or 3–5 years of operational management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Safety, SQF, GMP, and HACCP training/certifications
• Experience understanding budgeting/expense management with basic accounting
• Ability to analyze data using spreadsheets (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint or Access)
• Experience using continuous improvement tools to drive improvement
• Experience enforcing safety rules and policies
• Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
• Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environment
• Strong leadership skills to mentor others
• Ability to speak, read, and write English

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements production plans, department planning, policies and procedures.
• Coordinates with Plant Management to develop goals and objectives.
• Supervises personnel to ensure optimal performance.
• Tracks production outputs and analyzes trends affecting financial targets.
• Ensures safety, quality, and sanitation standards are met.
• Maintains effective communication with management and cross-functional teams.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives and manages staffing needs.
• Leads and mentors staff to improve performance and productivity.

• Developsand implementseffective production, department planning, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates with Plant Managementtodevelopgoals and objectives.
• Participates in developing and implementing department procedures and ensures that they supportCompanywidestrategic objectives.
• Exhibits expert knowledge for all positions on production floor.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
• Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions.
• Identifies problems and resolves them quickly and effectively.
• Completes related reports and records as assigned.
• Ensures that production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.
• Track operational output (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy), anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets.
• Flex production plans on a shift by shift basis to prevent service issues and operational inefficiencies.
• Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
• Trains and advises employees on current daily needsand production methods. Leads personnel to improve performance and productivity.
• Manage the personnel scheduleand assessstaffing needs.
• Provides leadership through goal setting, delegation, and communication.
• Assists with personnel decisions includingperformance appraisals,hiring, terminations, wage decisions and promotions.
