The ideal candidate will develop production calendars, track POs, and coordinate with Design, Merchandising, and leadership to ensure on-time arrivals for seasonal launches.

Production Manager

Position Overview

Sweet Wink is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to oversee day-to-day apparel production from product development through final delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial environment, has extensive experience with overseas factories, and can independently manage multiple production timelines while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met. As an individual contributor with no direct reports, the Production Manager will balance big-picture planning with hands-on execution, collaborating closely with Design, Merchandising, and leadership to deliver products on time and to brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end apparel production process, from product development through final delivery, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline expectations are met.
• Develop and maintain production calendars, track purchase orders, and manage factory delivery commitments across seasonal launches and key deadlines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas factories, overseeing daily communication, production updates, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate sample development, approvals, and pre-production requirements in partnership withDesign, ensuring products are ready for bulk production.
• Monitor production progress, proactively address delays and manufacturing challenges, and ensure adherence to approved specifications and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, hold factories accountable for quality and delivery, and support sourcing of new factories, fabrics, and trims as needed.
• Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, and Fulfillment to align production priorities, coordinate shipments, and support inventory planning.
• Maintain accurate production records and provide leadership with regular updates on timelines, costs, risks, and opportunities to improve efficiency.
  

Qualifications

• Local to Oceanside, NY
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on apparel production experience required. Experience with
  children's apparel is a plus.
• Strong understanding of apparel manufacturing processes, garment construction, fabrics, trims,
  and quality control standards.
• Proven experience managing production directly with overseas factories and suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage the production process from development
  through delivery.
• Experience managing multiple styles, seasonal collections, and overlapping production timelines.
