Job summary

Lignetics, Inc. seeks a Production Manager to oversee all production operations within the mill, ensuring OSHA compliance and adherence to quality and customer requirements. The role drives continuous improvement and manages budgets, reporting to the Plant Manager to achieve on-time, cost-efficient product delivery.

The candidate will lead a team, coordinate schedules, and maintain safety programs across the facility, with a focus on process optimization and high-quality output.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Management or related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a “roll up your sleeves” approach with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Requires intermediate technical/analytical skills and ability to perform basic to complex math.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the production department.
  • Prepare production schedules and communicate goals to departments.
  • Analyze equipment efficiency and coordinate manpower requirements.
  • Maintain quality control of products.
  • Train and supervise department supervisors and production personnel.
  • Manage production data reporting and inventory reporting.

Position: Production Manager

Shift: 1st shift

Position Overview

The Production Manager reports directly to Plant Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations within the mill manufacturing plant. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, complies with all Quality and Customer requirements. Drives adherence to company Core Values, fosters a culture of Continuous Improvement, and manages production budgets effectively. The Production Manager will follow and execute programs under the supervision of Plant Manager, to achieve operational excellence, maintain safety standards, and deliver high-quality products on time and within cost parameters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate Competence:

  • Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the production department.
  • Responsible for prioritizing and preparing production schedules and communicating production goals to the appropriate departments.
  • Must be able to analyze equipment efficiency, materials supply and coordinate manpower requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality control of product.
  • Responsible for properly managing, training and supervising department supervisors, shift leads and production personnel.

Communication and Teamwork:

  • Collection/verification/reporting of daily/weekly/monthly production data.
  • Production/Indirect personnel scheduling as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Vacation/attendance tracking/reporting with Ops. Coordinator.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly environmental data acquisition/reporting. (Water/air quality.)
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and accurately convey production and inventory reports to appropriate members of management and sales department on an ongoing basis.
  • Oversee corrective action policies and procedures, employee performance evaluations, and training schedules as needed. Other duties as assigned.
  • Recruits/evaluates potential employees.

Inspections, Safety and Maintenance:

  • Maintaining plant wide parts/equipment/expendables inventory tracking.
  • Ensuring appropriate levels are maintained to allow efficient operation of the facility.
  • Oversee the implementation of all quality control SOP policies/procedures including the PFI Standards Program.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the facility while coordinating the Lignetics.
  • Safety Program at the plant level. Includes all reporting requirements both for Lignetics and as required by OSHA or state and federal regulations.
Qualifications / Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Management or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a “roll up your sleeves” approach, be highly analytical and forward thinking. This is a day-to-day operating role but also one that requires resourcefulness, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership and motivational skills.
  • Requires a medium degree of technical and analytical skills. Requires the ability to do simple to complex math calculations.Must be able to work in a high temperature/ humidity area.
